Economic Development Advisory Council (by invitation only)

The Economic Development Advisory Council (EADC) was formed at the behest of the Houston NW Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. The EADC will serve as an advisory body to the Director of Economic Development. It will assist in the areas of strategic planning, budgeting and program & project prioritization for the Grow Northwest initiative.

This committee is charged with the funding of key community and economic development initiatives.


Public Policy Council

The Public Policy Council will examine public policy issues, make recommendations to the Board for Chamber action and will perform the role of lobbying for issues in support of business interests. Members are board-appointed.


Public Safety Forum

The Public Safety Forum will help to train and inform business owners and residents in ways to reduce crime and improve the level of safety for businesses in our community.


Safety & Security Task Force

This task force develops and implements strategies for a safer community.


Government Affairs-Transportation Forum

The Government Affairs/Transportation Committee will educate our members about public policy issues that impact them by hosting monthly speakers, by initiating resolutions for Public Policy Council /Board consideration, and by taking action to improve the business environment.


Green Sides Committee

Green Medians will work with property owners and other community-based organizations to plant the sides of Cypress Creek Parkway, increasing the aesthetic and real value of property along the corridor.


Education/Workforce Development Committee

The Education/Workforce Development Committee will positively influence graduation rates and individuals selecting meaningful careers by strengthening the interaction between business, ISDs and higher education. One example of these interactions is Passport to Your Future, an event which occurs twice a year. It is a product of the collaboration between the Chamber and higher education organizations with the purpose of exposing students to STEM fields and help them make decisions about their future career through hands-on activities, counseling sessions and mini workshops.

The purpose of this committee is also to facilitate communication between the businesses and education partners to improve incoming workforce and its quality.

Ambassador Mentors/Hospitality Ambassadors

The Ambassadors promote goodwill to Chamber members, provide a direct personal contact for Chamber members by mentoring new members, and support Chamber member retention efforts. Ambassadors are “the friendly front-line face of the Chamber” and as such are asked to support and participate in various Chamber activities. Areas of primary responsibility include: ribbon cutting ceremonies, luncheons, routine member visits and phone calls, and hosting at other Chamber events.


Formation: Young Professionals Group formerly known as HYPE—Houston Young Professionals Exchange NW

Formation is focused on the development and enhancement of the young professional leadership experience with the intention of laying the foundation for the future generation of professionals through learning events, developmental community Involvement and networking events.


Annual Gala Planning Committee

The annual Diamonds & Ice Gala is the Chamber’s premier fundraising event. Proceeds from the event support the Chamber’s missions of “developing successful businesses and a thriving community,” including specific, measurable, focused activities to develop business growth within the community.

Economic Outlook Forum Planning Committee

The Economic Outlook Forum Committee plans and organizes the spring event including securing sponsors, identifying speakers, developing the event agenda and executing a successful event.
