Message from the President
Dear Friends of the Northwest Community,
We have much to celebrate in northwest Houston and Harris County!
We must be diligent in focusing public and private dollars on projects that will maintain and improve our infrastructure and amenities.
We can be proud of the community efforts that brought us the Green Medians, a 45-acre Lone Star College System complex
and a park system that when complete, will be unparalleled in Texas.
Join us in our crusade to improve business and community. Join us in our visioning efforts so that we create a future that is
well-conceived and representative of our entire community. Join our Chamber and be a part of building successful businesses
and a thriving community!

Message from the Chairman of the Board
Shah Ardalan, President
Lone Star College - University Park
To Our Members and Community Partners,
On behalf of the entire Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, I want to thank you for supporting our Chamber and working diligently to promote growth and prosperity.
As a result of your active involvement, exceptional community leader volunteers, and dedicated Board employees, your Chamber stands stronger than ever in membership, financial viability, and operational efficiency. If you are a member, I thank you and urge you to take full advantage of your member benefits. If you are not a member yet, please join us and get involved in shaping the future of our community. We welcome your ideas, friendship, partnership, and leadership.
My predecessor, Juan Fresquez, and many of you have worked tirelessly for years to serve our community by leading and completing valuable projects. Your Chamber has led many community functions and grassroots efforts. One of the projects resulted in the establishment of Lone Star College – University Park. Today, LSC-University Park brings world-class higher education and workforce development to our area. Another major initiative is “Grow Northwest” which is a strategy and a campaign to build upon our community’s assets and to advance our local economy. The Chamber launched the Grow Northwest strategic plan in 2013. This critically important initiative is scheduled to be fully implemented by 2018.
In 2015, we will continue Chamber’s legacy of service, support, and leadership by focusing on five strategic goals:
Creating a safer and more secure community
Creating a sense of community
Increasing the economic health of our community
Supporting and championing education and human development
Creating a more excellent Chamber organization
The first three goals are the same as our Grow Northwest initiative. Goal No. 4 focuses on education and workforce which is a major reason for families and businesses to stay in or relocate to our community. Our area has a very unique educational ecosystem that must be celebrated. Last but not least, would be an inward look to better serve you and our community. We have a great Chamber and as such, pursuit of continuous improvement and increasing your ROI is a Board priority.
Ultimately, The Chamber’s success cannot only depend on our accomplished staff. As a community-based organization, the Chamber counts on our members’ wisdom, resources, volunteerism, and persistence to make our community an even greater place to live, work and do business.
The greater Houston area is growing. With your partnership and leadership, our Cypress Creek Community will be a nationally recognized destination of choice for personal and economic prosperity.
2015 Chairman of the Board
